LOS POEMAS VISUALES DE ANA MARIA GARCIA

Mirar estas fotografías produce asombro. No son fotografías, tampoco son pintura. Podrían ser palabras en clave, poemas desde otra orilla de luz. Cuando nos enteramos que Ana María García vivió sus mejores años en Barrancabermeja, se resuelve el misterio. Ella nunca ha dejado ese sol, mientras viaja por el mundo o habla de otras cosas, de música, de libros, de itinerarios, de puentes bajo la niebla. Ella no pierde el ardor de sus pupilas, ni en la noche más oscura. El sol de Barrancabermeja es el motivo de su obra. Estalla en mil colores, a diestra y siniestra. Su tono dominante no es otro que el verano eterno del Colegio El Rosario, los reflejos del río Magdalena a mediodía, el crepitar de las hojas en los parques al caer la noche, el efluvio naranja detrás de la Refinería. Y el resto del espectro. Hay otros alcances y conquistas. Hay, además, mucho de mirada de ritual indígena. Hay mucho de Pollock, sin Pollock. Y de Warhol, sin Warhol. Hay un gran mensaje ambientalista. Hay un viento que sopla con mucha fuerza encima o debajo de esos trazos. Alguien llamó postales a estas obras. Lo son y no lo son. Igual que el sol de Barrancabermeja, uno se aleja de ellas, pero ya nunca se podrá olvidar. Las lleva en los poros del espíritu, antes que en la carne. No es el propósito de esta breve reseña entrar a especular sobre los fantasmas eróticos de Ana María García, poeta o pintora o fotógrafa.

ANA MARÍA GARCÍA'S VISUAL POEMS

Looking at this photographs produces astonishment. Are not photographs, nor are painting, could be code words, poems from other side of ligth. When we learn that Ana Maria Garcia spend her best years in Barrancabermeja, the mistery is solved. She never left the sun while traveling around the world or talk about other things, music, books, itineraries, or bridges in the fog, She does not lose the ardor of her pupils, neither in the darkest night. Barrancabermeja sun is why her work burst into a thousand colors, right and left. It's dominant tone is not other than the eternal El Rosario school' summer, reflexion of the Magdalena river at noon, the crackle of leaves in parks at night fall, the orange effluvium behind the refinery and the rest of the spectrum. There are others achivements and conquests, there are also a lot of indigenous ritual look, there is a lot of Pollock without Pollock, from Warhol without Warhol. There is a great environmental message, there is a wind blowing strongly above or below these lines. Someone called strokes to these works, what they are or are not, like the sun of Barrancabermeja you get away from them but it could never forget them. She carries them in the pores of the spirit rather than the skin. It is not the point of this brief enter speculate on the erotic ghosts of Ana Maria Garcia, poet or painter or photographer, in this case it does not matter.
